I've been busy getting ready to hit the road.....thought I'd share some ideas
I've camped for many years.........Here's my take on "Soap-on-a-Rope"
I take a washcloth and fold it in half.......I sew two of the three sides closed and then turn the washcloth inside/out forming a "pocket"
Next I insert a bar of soap and a short loop of paracord...........and finally stitch the pocket closed
The cloth can......... hang in the shower........be used to wash your body directly......and hung to dry afterwards so none of the soap slime to deal with
I make a ShowerKit with a towel to contain everything I need.......I take a standard bath towel and fold it in thirds.......Using the 2/3's of the towel........Sew pockets sized to hold individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner........shaving cream/razor/mirror...........and deodorant
I sew another narrow pocket along the last fold to form a space for a dowelrod and string
The remaining flap leaves me some towel to dry my face after shaving....This one is old enough to receive Social Security
And finally I sure like the idea of the "coin" towels Kathleen recently talked about........for the moment I've been cutting/ripping down all the threadbare and damaged or odd colored towels in my storage to washcloth size...........I figure to stockpile these and use these as disposables for various uses
