Just got approached by another Walmart scammer in the parking lot here. They come up to you and ask if you wanna make a quick $40--all you have to do is return some stuff (which THEY can't return because by golly they've lost their IDs). So they'll pay you if you go return their stuff at the store and give them the money.

It is of course all stolen stuff. Walmart return policy requires you to show an ID if you don't have a receipt--so if the return shows up as stolen or fraudulent, YOU are the one that has the explaining to do.

I politely told them to **** off.

It is particularly annoying because it's the third ******* time in four months, in three different states, that I've been approached by the scammers. They're just as annoying as the panhandlers who also show up all the time.

PITA.

last Walmart I was at I watched a thin guy (crack?) waited for people to leave their vehicle and if he didn't see the car lights flash as they walked away (locked) he would look around then walk by and pull each door handle on one side.  Then he'd just go to another row and do the same thing...

Makes you want to use Amazon, but then it's the package thieves...

watch all the way till the end, priceless!

Sorry to not cut this short, there are two types of people in this world, predators and prey, you must be diligent in your ability to determine the difference. If it sounds to good to be true it is. Plain and simple.

I haven't been approached with that one, so thanks for the heads up (not like I would have done it anyway). But if it is stolen, what is their gain? You getting arrested?

But I already have a plan if it does happen to me. I'm going to accept their offer, take what they have, throw it in a trash can by the door on my way into the store and then go do my shopping.

They get the money if you are successful--and give you a cut of it.

If you are unsuccessful, they get nothing, you get jail, and they get to try again with some other sucker.

What if you took the object inside and talked to the nearest security guy? You could at least point out the scammer to them.

Just call the cops, I'd much rather they go to jail than some poor innocent or gullible person. Heck, what if it's a child that they talk into doing their bid for them. Then what? If it was me I'd just call the cops that simple.
