I come from a very creative and artistic family . . . but, Lol!!!  I am colorblind! which doesn't occur in women as often as it does in men.
Lately I've been strolling through Hobby stores just looking for inspiration and keeping in mind expense of a hobby as well as space.
For years my creative outlet has been vegetable gardening . . . communing with nature, contemplating the cycle of life . . . too, Lol!!! . . . everyone left me alone out there pulling weeds because they didn't want to be asked to help! although they enjoyed what I cooked!
But . . . I know there are going to be nights and weather that will keep me "cooped up" . . . does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much.

Textures and shapes can be artistic, too
are you totally color blind? I was, at one point, temporarily color blind in one eye, but I could still discern shades, like a non color blind person watching black and white TV

Not quite sure what you like to do, but when you mention creative, does writing\drawing do anything for you? Or maybe making stop motion movies? The stop motion costs abit, camera, laptop, and some figures. Learn a new language? Or, do what I do and spend the whole day on the interwebz! Lol. Best of luck!

ArtW,  I am Red/Green/Blue color blind.  One of my sisters noticed that whenever I'm attracted to something in the store . . . any kind of store . . . I reach out and touch it, pick it up, and inspect it.  Yes, I've always been attracted to textures and shape.

That is an interesting conundrum.  You would probably need to focus on shape, texture and contrast.

I looked around online to see what other people do, and came across this online e-book in .pdf format, titled From Frustration to Fabulous:  Art Projects for Colorblind Students at https://littlefingersbigart.com/fro...lous-art-projects-for-color-blind-students-2/

Maybe it can give you some ideas.

Thank you, TrainChaser.  I was a preschool Teacher for 16 years . . . if I stuck to primary colors and labeled my supplies the children never suffered.  As a matter of fact, Lol!!!, when I was unsure of a color I made it part of the learning process by asking the children . . . in this instance . . . majority ruled.

I am a "touchy feely" person and have been reminded by everyone's input.  As a matter of fact, I am a Certified Massage Therapist . . . 17 years and counting.
I've been thinking about exploring clay and sculpting.  Too, I've been told I should write of my life and adventures . . . the adventures are not over!  Thank you, *s*

There's all sorts of fun things to make with polymer clay.

Carving and wood burning small pieces of wood.

Stamping fabric with leaves and flowers, textile art.

I'm like that even without the color blindness, just a tactile person, and the only guy I know who will give a garment the 'feel test' and refuse to try it on if it feels unpleasant, period
I also pay a lot of attention to shape, and flow any symmetry
A buddy of mine and me once saw a Ferrari body on what appeared to me a monster truck chassis, he thought it was cool, my sensibilities were offended :D

Lol!!! I do the same thing!  And . . . I don't want to be restrained nor do I tolerate layers!
Shape, flow, symmetry . . . all are simply are part of my living environment.  I believe one's desk, home, yard, etc. are a reflection of their thoughts, mind, emotions, and spirit.  The TV show "Hoarders" gives me the "shivers" of horror and makes my heart hurt for that person.

Clay can be heavy to carry, difficult to store (needs to be kept moist), and works in progress can be damaged during travel.

Have you considered chip carving?  Minimal tools needed and easily carried, wood can be found anywhere, and works in progress are not subject to damage.

One of my father's hobby is wood furniture making.  He is 79 and has hand tools his grandfather used.  Wonderful suggestion, Thanks so much.

Attend some craft shows while you're on the road, and something may click.

Jannette, I love to play with wool. I enjoy needle felting and there are all kinds of different things to make. The needles and wool don't take up much room at all and it's very fun to do. I like making little dolls that look like friends then surprising them with the gift of them. I also make little animals and scent them or even put a super perfumed chunk of soap in them and put them with my clothes. Makes my clothes smell really nice.
A couple of my past projects:

YouTube has a plethora of videos on the subject. It's incredibly easy.

Thank you Art but I'm really not good at it. I just play around with it. I've also incorporated my cats hair, dog hair and even people hair into the mix at times.
