My story is probably similar to many others
I am mid-fifties, recently divorced, with grown children. After a long life of gathering stuff, I've decided that freedom interest me more then Gathering stuff. I am starting small with an Astro van and I want just enough solar power to power a laptop and some fans. I am currently in Virginia and hoping to be out of here soon thanks for having me. I look forward to learning more from all of you.

Welcome George Mason to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome, GM. Many people go small and minimalist. You will find tons of conversion videos on youtube for every size vehicle. Bob Wells' channel has the "no-build build", and you could be on the road in a couple of days, and onto your new life, :). The simplest power option is a Jackery 240 or 500, powered off a portable solar panel, and with 12 VDC and 120 VAC outputs. Connect 2 plugs and you've got power. Easy peasy. Good luck.
