The past 2 years is all I know about:

Bob would make the announcements at the morning seminars about the lunches and ask people to bring food up to the tables there (near the main campfire) by each Saturday morning.

One Saturday was chili.  There were cans of chili, beans, corn, etc, and pre-cooked hamburger, pre-sliced onions, peppers, spices, that kind of stuff.  People contributed paper towels and fuel and pots and tables and garbage bags and utensils.  (I think Peter and Bob contributed quite a lot in that regard.) Peter and lots of other volunteers set up a prep and cooking area and somehow it all got turned into about 4 or 5 steaming pots of various types of chili.  Others brought cornbread, crackers, chips, dips, veggie sticks, sauces, etc. It wasn't organized as to who should bring what; it just seemed to work out.

One Saturday was soup.  Same format with lots of veggies and noodles and goodies.

Lunch was served in a buffet line, about 2 pm as I recall. Everyone brought a chair, bowl, spoon and a drink of choice.

On a different day, one couple hosted a potato bake at their camp and people brought toppings of every sort.

The sun was down by 6 pm, so no group dinners were held that I know of, but the main campfire was a friendly gathering place every night for many. Bob contributed quite a lot of firewood, and others also brought some.

Chili night, hobo soup night and more recently baked potatoe fixins' night

Yoo Hoo ---calling Bob!

I would like to have a "Fix n Gab" at my camp. Looks like Wed the 11th starting about 1 pm might be a good time. (Peeps just bring chair, something to work on, supplies, drink of choice, come and visit - no instruction from me, Ima dummie)

If you are ok with this I will post more detail...

Thanks,

Sassy

Bob, you probably already know this but I will not be at RTR this year. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be having surgery for it. If all goes well I might get there for the last couple of days but I am not planning on teaching a wire jewelry class. Cheri

I am so sorry to hear that Cheri, but we are very lucky to live in a time when things like that have become almost "routine" if you can call a thing like that "routine". I'm wishing you the very best.

Dang Cheri. I'll sure miss you. You have all the love and strength I can send your way. And I'll see you down the road.

I'll be thinking of you and sending good wishes your way. I'm glad we got to hang out a bit at the Oregon GTG.

See you down the road.

I am not sure what the rules are there or if there is room, I was considering bringing a few weapons, 2 pistols and a shotgun, and give some basic instruction. I also have a rifle I use to compete with in 338 Lapua caliber but I'm not sure we could get a clear field of fire for it.

Pistols are a Glock 27, a baby Glock .40 cal and an FN 5 7. Shotgun is a Benelli M4 in 12 gauge, semi auto.

I have plenty of ammo for all of them, target loads for the shotgun.

Maybe Bob or one of the folks 'in the know' can tell me if it is feasible or even wanted.

Combat course and evasion training would be in slow motion, my old body is a walking target.
