Kimkelb89- First off..I'm new to the forum too. I'm also in Texas. South of Huntsville. I have also had a lower back injury with surgery in my past. I was looking on FB Marketplace and found a few short buses and shuttle buses (Skoolie's) that have low mileage Ford 7.3 Diesel engines. The engines before 2004 that are 7.3 liter powerstroke are the best motors ever made by ford. If you find one in good shape with 100K miles..buy it ! The ones I saw for sale were like $3-4K. You would be able to stand up in them. And that would leave you $1K to convert it. You don't have to do it all at once. Get the basics and go. Then no matter what happens..you will have a way to get out and a place to stay. Those are even strong enough to pull a small car behind it if needed. PM me for other tips "neighbor". I've been a full time RV'er for 11 yrs. #BeABlessing.kimkelb89 said:Hello, fellow cheap rvers:
I am posting here because I have some challenges that have led me to feel that this is the way to go. I had back surgery. I'm expected to have a full recovery, and by my guess, that will happen before the end of the year. I'm about 70% there now. It will take physical therapy for 1-3 more months and mostly physical activity and strength training to get strong again. A chiropractor may be needed or can at least add to the healing.
