I currently have my Buddy heater secured in place with a bungee cord as seen below.  Is it safe to leave the bungee there during operation or no?

I am going to say no, the highest the metal on mine doesn't get hot is where the metal is angled and the Mr heater and portable buddy decals are.
I think those are the only intake holes when it's sitting on the ground as well, I could be wrong I've had mine wall mounted for so long I can't recall what the back looks like.

I would say definitely no. I've never tried to determine just how hot that part of the base gets (I do have a bit of common sense LOL). But, my Buddy throws out such ferocious heat from the front grid, I would never have anything flamable close to touching it.

Why take a chance on a fire just to keep the bungee in place?

Thanks for the replies.

Hence why I asked before taking the chance :)

you know there are mounting holes in the back for quick mounting and dismounting, no need for a bungee. highdesertranger
