Well now... last night I was first in line for a job manning a dump station as the poop master.... fhu etc
But and also .. job offers at garden place in Bisbee.. ranch in Tombstone,, another ranch.. a do-it-all for the Salida NF area or a camp host in the Siteg5r4aves NF group area... and the job I am going to take, camp host at a Horse Camping/Rez only, outside of Flagstaff. water on site and dump for host only... dumpster for the horseshit though! This will afford me much needed maintenance on the RV without sucking up all my SSI.... As Jaq says... most of us can put up with 6 months of **** if the reward is good enough.

just off the phone with Andy, who is prepping the area... I am allowed visitors, so consider that ... 2 miles from a Safeway.. road just graded... fires didn't touch this area.. got close though

the below site has the campsites out in the middle of no where

If you can’t beat them join them! At least you won’t have rangers trying to run you off! Mackinaw Island souvenirs used to be horse apples with a pipe cleaner handle covered in shellac and a tag that read “Mackinaw Island” with the year written in!

Hey Randy did you make it back with that oversized dust bunny! (Augie!) who we all loved, what a cool cat!
Safe travels everyone!
Made it back safe with said dust bunny, haha! Augie is enjoying his freedom roaming about the yard without the "vest"! Cool and rainy today...nice the remainder of the week.

Little Elden Horse Camp sure had a bad year last summer between the smoke from the fires and the monsoon season road closures. All the NFS areas near Flagstaff except Walnut Canyon got closed for fire risk last summer. We would sit at camp in Walnut Canyon watching the trees on the mountains in the distance turn into flaming torches. Also watched the water bombers doing their drops on the fires. There were actually three separate wild fires we could see all burning at the same time.

Not too bad of a drive from Elden to the Home Depot down hwy 89. I will be at that Home Depot some this summer finishing up stuff on my build. But today’s trip is going to Harbor freight to replace a socket adapter that must be somewhere in my Honda Element’s storage bins. Too much trouble to empty everything out and way more fun to drive to town and shop and get a milkshake too than doing unpacking and sorting. I have already sorted through four tool bags and several tool drawers looking for that little adapter.

We had the rangers by last week to give us the Two Week.. so we will get almost 3 weeks out of this site... but everyone is and will be ready to move on by then anyway.. up up up.. More altitude sir?

A woman in Maine is making moose turd ear rings!!

All the tourist shops in Anchorage were selling moose tire earrings when I was there in 1969. Nothing new about varnishing moose turds. It suspect it has been going on since at least the 1800s.

^^Marketing Idea ?........The cats have been busy making "Candy Bars" for their Nomad doggie friends......How do we sell these ?

We're in Pahrump camping with Sleep and doggie Bella

We're feeding a great big "Yellow Dog" found starving on BLM land.......Sherry's busy on Facebook Lost N' Found

A Great dog............Lot's of Lab mixed in......still wary .............

Weather changed..........What's New ? Now COOL for a bit................

There's a new Summer Caravan started by Tim Conley and his bus "Hannah"...........Facebook CARAVAN PIONEERS

Arrrrrggggggh

When I was a kid we used to pour used motor oil on a rag and wipe down their backs and try to ride them bareback! Crazy things we did for entertainment before the internet! Lol!!! By the way they get really mean when you do that.

Eons ago, I was somewhere in the SW, and a few burros (small donkeys) came alongside the camp, just passing through, and there were two young ones. Everyone watched them, and someone called them mules, and she was corrected.

"Those are donkeys," a man said, "although they call them burros down here".

A teenager boy asked, "So, are the babies called burritos?"

Best part of Cinco de Mayo means no more really cold weather for us! Summer heat will soon be here so enjoy the mild weather til monsoon season starts!

Yes, of course there is no more really cold weather after May 5th. The low temperature on the 6th will be 33 degrees and on the 7th it will be a pleasantly warm 32 degrees in Flagstaff AZ. But of course that is not including in the wind chill factor and there certainly is one this week. The wind gust will only be about 20mph during those lowesy temp erasure hours. Much gentler than the 47 mph gust we had this morning.

They are serving “chilly” for the Cinco De Mayo dinner this year. 🤪

Blustery day in Pahrump..............The van is rocking

We had guests for dinner...........Bus-dweller Trish and her dog BUTTON came to visit with (yellow-dog) now MILO

He looks handsome in a new collar

The dogs sniffed and ran and played.....Blackie supervised from her tent command post........Everybody "learning" while we ate our Cinco meal

Milo wanted to walk home with BUTTON !..........we may have a winner here............they return today for more play !

Arrrrrgh

Yay Doggos

Ouch.. This work thing... but it is mostly the opening clean up of sites, which will stop when I finish.

Chilli has advanced to off leash walks when there is no one around... yay! She will never go into the CG, if I can control it, so she never gets comfortable going in there...

Brian stopped in for a couple of nights in the past weeks and was off yesterday. Jessie is threatening to visit next week, can you say Walmart pickup?

30s at night and 50/60 in the day for the next ....

cheers all!
