Most iPhones, Sony products, etc. are made in China. But the capital investment and upper management are Japanese. Quality control is also of higher standards. The labor is Chinese and they work hard and are just as good as the Japanese and I'd say, better than Americans workers.

Give an American a reason to have pride in his company, and he will put out a product that is superior. I worked for one company in N. CA, that started putting on the name of the workers who made the cryonics unit. They went to zero defects. The workers ate lunch with the owner and the upper management. Ideas were written down and voted on. The ones used were given bonuses and in one case a patent. 5 figure year end bonuses were standard.

We had all flavors (colors and backgrounds) of Americans working there.

Sony has global workforce, management, and ownership. You are unable to stay racial in your business outlook and survive with the current new world business model.

The main problem is that Americans won't work for $2/hour and 50 hours/week like they do in Thailand and live 3 families per 2 BR apartment. Hell, not even $10/hour. And Thailand makes awesome computer equipment. Factory wages are probably cheaper in China.

Most Americans wants big time salaries and then unions so American firms say, adios. Or welfare pays way better than $2/hour. Dollar Store goodies are usually made by Chinese inmates, so that's free labor at 15-18 hours a day with a quota. If they don't make quota, then no sleep.

How can we compete. But wait, there's more in terms of EPA guidelines in China; there are none. Safety? Check this out. They're willing to risk the lives of 6 people just to make pots and pans faster and more efficient by removing all of the safety mechanisms and turn the danger level up to "11" (so imagine what else they're capable of):
