The campsites here run $50 to $60 per night in season but the monthly rates are much lower. $350 in winter, goes up to $650 in season so quite a big difference.

Ouch, that's a lot (to my cheap way of thinking). I think the last time I paid for camping (tent) was last year at Valley of fires recreation area in NM, BLM run, and I think after my old-git discount I was paying about $3.50. If someones asks me to pay that much for a night (and I have to bring my own lodging), I'm going to drive on...

Only paid that much because A) our local lake that is free was having electrical issues, their 3 free camp spots that weren't occupied had no electricity. B) the second place I tried I scouted 30 minutes looking for some shade and some type of picnic tables/grills, it was 100 degrees out. After finding said spot, backing up alone, tried 3 separate outlets, with trying the 30 amp, 110v plug, flipping breakers on all 3 outlets, and inside my rig.. it wasn't my rig, it was plugged up on 110v at home no problem. No one around to get any info, either. It would have been a reasonable $12 a night. C). As I am still checking everything out in my nearly-new-to-me-rig, I didn't want to go too far from home, yet. I had used about a quarter tank on running the generator (no 30 amp service at home and 100 degrees and no A/C is a no-go) off and on the past two weeks, plus driving to the two towns I traveled, I just wanted to be plugged in. As I didn't want to drive all over hell and half of Georgia, the KOA came up and had a spot. I didn't want to drive further and waste gas, and was looking at already 5 hours of messing with it, the $30 something was just a nuisance and was not an issue. Not everyone is opposed to one night of paying a slightly higher amount for an occasional night or two. I am not a full timer, yet.

Was only observing other campers and their differences. It was new to me. Was only sharing. :)

Yes, I guess if you're tethered to an electrical outlet you don't have much choice. I wasn't getting on your case about it, we all do what we have to do. Sounds like you might need one of those little generators, go boondocking, but never far from the road!

Not tethered, just testing everything out. :) Genny worked great otherwise, other than the noise. No solar yet unfortunately. Working on it. :D
