I don't know who RAW is and I'm not bothering to look them up but I do know right off the bat that is a UK email address and there not getting squat from me.
Wanna do a show about us here in the US, then let it be a us based business.

My 2 cents worth.

I would hope that van dwellers would resist this kind of exploitation.

I would do it in a heartbeat if I was paid enough! It would be nice to get money for just continuing to live my normal van life. But if looking like an inbred hillbilly is the requirement, they wouldn't want me. I'm too good looking. Lol Not really, my mirror says I'm lying.

They produce the "Gold Rush" series for Discovery channel. It's their highest rated show! Do you hold Discovery channel in contempt? I don't! They are one of my most watched channels and "Gold Rush" is probably one of my top 5 favorite shows. I DVR'd every episode and was really sad when the season ended.

Having lived in Alaska for 45 years and done some recreational gold mining around the state, I can assure you I believe it is a totally accurate and fair presentation. Plus, it's incredibly entertaining!

I'd work with them in a heartbeat!!!

Two years ago when I was approached about being in a documentary, I heard hundreds of comments exactly like the ones you are giving. I am so very glad I ignored them all!! I'm extremely pleased with that documentary and I believe this series will be much better.

Contempt prior to investigation is the exact opposite of the spirit of living Off-Grid, and exactly opposite of the spirit of this site. I'm very disappointed to see so much of it here.

As a member of polite east coast society the only British TV programs I care to watch are Downton Abbey, Mr Selfridge, and Masterpiece Mystery.

Someone following me around, pointing a camera at me, would simply be intolerable, and make me extremely angry. There is simply not enough money for me to allow this.

But the younger "look at MEEEEE" generation would probably love it and gush at all the attention and exposure.

Seriously, I am a very private person too. I wouldn't care for it, and don't want to be on anyone's 'radar'. I like the 'grey man' approach to life. Comes from having worked security, and being on the fringe of the Prepper Movement.
When I watched mainstream TV many years back, I did enjoy several Britcoms. "Are You Being Served", "Last Of The Summer Wine", "Waiting To Die" - they were favorites. Only the Brits can create a hilarious sitcom based in an old folks home....... :)

I guess some of us want our mug on TV.  Most of us do not.

LeeRevell, don't forget Fawlty Towers:)

I have noticed all the reality TV crews are Brit's. Not sure why.

Those show about preppers by NG are edited to make them look like goonies. I'm a prepper and vehicle dweller, and far from a Looney Goonie. I'll pass regardless of the money. Fame? That's why I want to be a van dweller.

Grey man for these end times.

You may very well be selected as well Bob and I hope that you do get that opportunity.  I'd have to say I would watch just because of that. I gave up TV years ago and don't miss it at all. I'll catch a streaming movie now and then when I have time or a Race, but I'll never go back to regular(what ever that is)TV. As for Discovery, your right, they do produce very good content. I don't hold them in contempt one bit. But I'm not providing my info to a UK business no matter the money possibility. It's my own logic and principle better suited to another thread. I want to see american business that's just me.

I also think a lot of your members and myself would prefer not to be in any ones spot light and I don't think that should be disappointing at all.

GOOD LUCK~!

I'm glad there are people like akrvbob who will do things like this for at least 2 reasons:
1. I love watching motion pictures (videos, movies & documentaries) about things I'm interested in (& this is high on my list);
2. I think that televising this type of lifestyle, especially by articulate, creative, experienced and down to earth people like akrvbob will help dampen the 'white van pervert' stigma.

Although I do see 2 downfalls though:
1. Devulģinģ your secret honey hole will mean infiltration, therefore less elbow room and resources;
2. One bad apple spoils the bunch. With more people doing it will mean more chances that it will not be done right which will mean more regulations. And the lack of regulation, freedom, is 1 reason why it's appealing.

It's an "I got mine and I'm not sharing my secrets, so get out!!" attitude for some. Others realize that they will be dead as a rock in ten years maybe twenty, and they say "why not share this information and be inspiration for someone".

Always find it weird how black and white people make the world to be. Evil liberal foreign TV station must not be watched; or angelic business man trying to be altruistic, so buy his stuff.

So the country was founded on people who take a gamble and a chance on something new. Doing the TV show might make you a minor celebrity.

If chumlie on PAWN STARS can be a minor celebrity, why not take a chance?

Doesn't seem harmful to me, perhaps my time on stage and in retail dealing with the public has made me
immune to subtle sarcasm. I wish them good luck.

"kill the television" what would we watch your blog on?

ehh....they wouldn't want me either.

I'm definitely good looking enough...but my people skills (and language) have a lot to be desired!

They are welcome to come to my 2016 Florida Snowbird Gathering for the black bears; feral hogs, panthers, turkey vultures and buzzards need a good meal.

But on second thought that might not be the case when you consider typical British cuisine.
