yea, i started to go for the 65 qt. but i went for what i actually needed ,and the space i had to work with in my trailer. the 45 was the right size....

Fearnoevil, we weren't talking about a 115 volt dorm frig. we were talking about a 12 volt frig/freezer made be model 45 chest type, which Edgestar makes one that looks identical to theres it a model 43.

Fearnoevil, you made the very easy mistake of confusing 110 volt with 12 volt. That is a 110 volt fridge so it isn't 1.1 amps when plugged into an inverter, it is 13 amps and when you factor in inverter waste it is probably closer to 15 or more. Plus it's duty cycle is probably very high.

You will have so much solar you can probably waste the power but it will draw probably 10-15 times more amps per day than my 65 quart Whytner 12 volt fridge that cost me $500.

I'm almost certain that Whytner and Edgestar are made by the same Chinese factory and re-branded. They look identical.
