I'm planning to camp at Joshua Tree and saw that they have about 6 different campgrounds. I don't need electric or water so I was wondering if anyone has been there and which campground has the most big rocks.

Jumbo Rocks has the most big rocks but also the most people with huge rigs.

Belle and White Tank also have rocks. There are size restrictions that keep out the 40' fifth-wheels and monster Class A's but there are fewer campsites.

Hidden Valley is a popular rock climbing spot. It's hard to get a space there.

The general challenge at Joshua Tree is finding ANY available campsite, especially in spring and fall.

If you can't find a campsite in the park, head over to Freecampsites.net and get the directions to ones that are just outside the park, both south and north. I liked the south end better!

I drove through the park the end of March and there wasn't a site to be had. Wonderful place and I'd like to spend some more time there but it will probably be commuting from the BLM land outside the park.

There's also overnight parking at the Tortoise Rock Casino on the edge of Twentynine Palms, at Adobe and Baseline.

it is also hotter than hades there right now.

Which means it'll be easier to get a campsite. :D

The LOW for the next ten days is 76 degrees...it will be at or over 100 for the foreseeable future.  Horrible time to go.
