Yes, I keep track of the bearings. I check each stop to see if they are running hot. I plan on carrying a spare pair as well as a spare tire always.

Well everyone I took the camper out on the road for the first time today and it pulled and tracked beautifully. I bought a Haier 5000 btu air conditioner for $50 from a guy in Durango who had used it about two months in the last 2_years. I took my Honda EX800 generator with me and it started the ac with no problems. My wife and I and our 2 dogs spent the afternoon in La Plata canyon in the mountains of SW Colorado. Today was a special day and we all had a good time. I will post pictures of the ac installed tomorrow. Jeff.

Well its now tomorrow and I am setting on the patio listening to the hum of the ac powered by the small Honda generator. The unit is cycling on and of as the temperature drops to the set point and then restarts. This little Honda EF 800 really 700 watts with 800 max is amazing. I had to safety wire the fuel valve shutoff as it kept working loose. I think this will work. See pictures . Jeff

I like the idea of using the camper shell, but I will use a heavier duty frame and axle. Thanks for all the pictures.

Yes, I would too except I already had the trailer. I am under its weight limit. I towed it up to the mountains yesterday and even did about 10 miles of gravel road about 110 miles altogether and it handled it great. I got 11.2 mpg on my 2007 chevy pick up which usually only gets 14-16 mpg empty.  So I am happy.

What's important is your happiness and satisfaction.
It's not overweight.
$50 seems to recur as the price at which you obtain things.
The hatch on its side as an entry door is cool.

Yeah $50 seemed to be the going price for everything I found. Haha I am too cheap to pay for new. This camper was made of recycled or repurposed everything. Jeff

We took our little camper out to Target tree Forest service campground for 3 days and it worked great.

VERY HAPPY you guys are enjoying your build!! great pics and fab pic of your wife and doggies!!

I see the ladder on the side, are you using the top for storage and hauling?
just wondering

Roamer, no I just had the ladder to tie the awning up over the door. I eventually want 100 watts of solar up there and to carry a canoe. I didnt think to get a picture with the awning up.

oh yea would love to see an awing pic you designed for it :)

canoe on top is great for fun but the work on loading and unloading is tough. I know, we done that type of work for bringing toys with us LOL

we have 3 kayaks we bring on trips and we have a toyhauler because of it....inside storage for toys. But we wanted a smaller non-toyhauler rig but can't find a way to haul the toys we need so we are baffled on the crap we do love to use with us and going smaller and smaller LOL sometimes it is just tough to fit it all into our lives as we want :)

Roamer, the next  time I put the tarp on (I use one over roof on rack and one over dack door). I will post pictures. Right now I am considering selling the trailer and keeping my 93 motorhome. I will post a new pot about its value. Thanks

I have decided to list this small trailer on the Cheap RV market spot. Check it out. Thanks everyone for all of your comments during my build. Jeff

Uncle, no not at this time. I sold my 93 Dutchman motorhome that I had completely redone for enough to buy a 25 ft. travel trailer. It is light enough (3600 lbs) to pull with my 1500 Chevy pickup. That camper was the second I had built. If you have basic tools and some work time they are fun to build.
