I've been full time in my truck/class b combo for a bit over a month now and Mosquitos are by far my biggest problem. It's rained a lot in New England this summer and the blood suckers are out of control.

I try to spend a lot of time near lakes or rivers at various parks but mosquitos are just killing me.

Much less less can't even go hiking in the woods during the day because they swarm you like some b rated horror flick.

They getting inside your ve hickle?

I went nearly mad one night in New Zealand when I found a wicked spot down by a river on the west coast of the South Island.
I think they were coming in through the ventilation system in my Nissan Van.

After they began to drive me insane when reading a book after dark, I opened up the curtain to the front cab area, and there were approximately a thousand hovering around.

I lost it, opened up the windows and drove for 90 miles to flush them out, and still spent an hour hunting them down afterward before I was able to sleep.

Didn't have that issue again down there, just that one spot.

They get inside when you open the doors or have the windows open even in daylight. It's hot here in the summer, was 98 degrees at one point yesterday. No way to not open your windows.
Get a Thermacell! They're a small butane powered thing that slowly heats a repellent wafer. They don't have an offensive odor and they do a great job in small areas like a van. I use mine all the time when I'm sitting outside the van, or when I'd like to keep the doors open for a bit. They don't work so well when it's breezy, but the bugs are not normally so bad then.

http://www.amazon.com/ThermaCELL-Co...op_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

Kept the Alaskan skeeters out completely.

When outdoors, long sleeves and a hat with a skeeter net over it.

You can buy a bunch of mosquito netting and drape it outside over openings (curtain sheers from Sally Ann work too) and mosquito coils are a godsend. If a bunch get in, just break off a chunk, light it, go outside and button up your vehicle. Won't be long and they're all doin' the chicken on the floor. ..Willy.

I went to a crafts store called Michaels, which can be found in New Hampshire, and bought rolls of round magnets about an inch or inch and a quarter in diameter and used plastic screening. The magnets come in rolls of fifty. I cut the screen to fit my windows and overlapped the magnets, sealed using a hot glue gun. Made enough for the two front windows and the two rear door windows. They work great. I can now leave my windows open with no bugs.

I thought it was just Alaska where the mosquitos were excessive this year. Its been on the news all summer. When they first hatched, it was like being in the movie "Birds". Creepy! They were so thick it was hard to see across the yard. Nets work, Cintronelli in candles and torches, Deet works best but they say its not good for people. I used Deet...it was unbearable here. There's an electronic Badmitten racket that electrifies the sqeeters as you swing it around you--doesn't get rid of all of them but the vengeance feels great!

When I was gold mining in the Brooks Range (Arctic Circle), the only things that worked (short of getting inside and buttoning up) were mosquito coils & beer. The could even knock down a horsefly (sometimes), but wouldn't kill it. We'd be sitting outside drinking beer, with about 5 coils lit around us. After enuf beer, we'd head inside & pass out.. so that worked pretty well. ..Willy.

Yea, so far I've had to just deal with it and leave my windows up when sleeping in my truck. The van isn't really a issue due to having screens on the windows. However I've been using my truck most of the time due to it being more convenient to drive.

Just sucks because I can't even do much in the parks far as hiking and so on because they swarm you soon as you hit the woods.

permethrin. not on skin. follow directions, use plenty.

I have treated a hat, shirt, pants, shoes and socks. Tent and stuff. Works on ticks, and repels Jersey Skeeters.
