You could carry an inflatable kayak. More easily stowed.

Easy is no fun! Besides I prefer rigid boats. The one on top is a sunfish sailboat.

Does sunfish have a dagger board? But that's fun for a day sail in good weather

It does have a dagger board, they are a blast to sail. After finishing the mounts and sealing it all up, it is secure. Took a little 20 mile drive on the highway, boat was exactly where I left it after the drive.

Also, I sold the kayak yesterday and man is there way more room inside now. I forgot how big the ambo is. The kayak had been in there for the past ten years!

After all that cutting and drilling, I made some gussets to support the part that overhangs.

Should make for a good platform for a twin bed mattress when it is all done. Best part is of course, it all folds out of site when not in use.

I am pretty sure the bed setup will work out this weekend!

The lock in the closed position and just pop in the legs (pvc for now, wanted to make sure they worked out before spending the cash on the fancy metal ones)

Much larger bed and very stable! Looking forward to this weekend to test it out.

Looks like a sturdy design. When finished are the legs meant to fit into those pockets on the floor?

If you use the base piece's on the floor you could fold down 1/2 of the bed for a lounge/seat and use the next closest floor base for a table leg support.

I'd stay with PVC, not that weight is an issue but it looks like you really don't need any side movement support. (unless your doing joint activities on the bed and then all bets are off).

The other fittings on the floor are for my table.

After a three hour drive, I have made dinner and am getting ready to set my bed up!

The stove worked amazingly as always!

Looks very clean and functional! Couple questions:

1) What is the black material that serves as benchtop, what your laptop is sitting one?

2) It looks like in addition to bed hinging down, the black benchtop would hinge up for access into storage, but I can't picture how that would work without a 3-way piano hinge...

Oh, and how's that flooring mat working out for you? I think it'd drive me nuts, I'm always dropping little stuff...but it would be comfortable to stand on.
