Nice Royce, looks like you build an unusual type of diatonic dulcimer.

Thank you. The fret spacing and overall length I copied but the rest of the design is mine. Neck and sides are cut from one piece of wood. I designed it for a class I have taught "Introduction to Stringed Instrument Making" I pre-cut the kits and students were able to leave with the dulcimer complete ready for what ever finish they preferred.

How'd I miss this thread before?? My eyes lit up to see another Native American flute owner/player. Though, sadly mine has been in storage all this time, primarily because i have no safe way of storing it that it wouldn't get damaged. That, and most often I'm hiding iwthin people and it doesn't really play quietly.

I have a cheap aacoustic guitar that stays with me in a ridiculously tough hard case. It's fallen and got banged around in my van horribly and each itme I'm afraid the guitar would be ruined but nope, just fine.

Really wish I had me a keyboard.

Music is a big part of how I 'breathe' emotionally. Jumping into this lifestyle I knew I had to take as much of that with me as I could.

I'm going to need to get a much larger van if I hope to have room for my banjo. No way will it fit in my Transit Connect. At least not without wiping out a lot of much needed storage space. :(

Fortunately my plan still involves getting a very small storage unit for the bulk of my stuff, so I guess it could go in there. Then I can just swap it with something in the van I don't need that weekend. Not perfect, but you do what you have to.

I have my guitar in a nylon gig bag , it hangs on the wall , takes almost no space. ;)

I play the harmoniica(s).. Think I have at least 25-35 of them. I also play the plastic recorders that kids play in band class in schools. I pick them up at yard sales usually around $1.00 each. Have them in a variety of keys and sizes too..

I recently picked up a cigar box ukulele kit for $39 + $10 shipping. It should be fun to put together and make noise with. The website for the cigarbox ukulele and all kinds of other stringed instrument.

Earlier someone mentioned a Hurdy Gurdy... They have a kit for on on that site. Definitely a pricey instrument at right around $600 or spend more and buy a finished kit at $1,100.00
