I guess I've been lucky, my Direct TV has been totally trouble-free for 1 1/2 years. But the dish is on a tripod and the coax goes through a hole in the floor straight to the Receiver/DVR. Not much can go wrong! Finding the satellite is very very high tech--a compass!

DH found the reset button on the master box. We have TV, again. When the tech came out earlier, he found issues with the equipment and a defective cable. DH did not have the necessary testing equipment with him to find the problem, himself. It seems to be working fine, now. It's amazing how I never felt I was missing anything before we got wifi and satellite TV, but now, I can't live without it.

We only use TV when hooked up. Most of the year we're without since I refuse to run the genny for that reason. If we can't find free wifi we do without that too.
We've found other interests, including a lot more reading and quality time together. Helps that we aren't into TV sports and don't follow any shows.
If I wanted to sit around watching TV I could have stayed in a box and avoided all the fun things we do and see.
We're all different tho.

When we bought our old Class 'C', it came fully equiped for cable and/or antenna TV.

I promptly ripped it all out!

When my exasperated family asked me if I'd lost my mind, I told 'em that "this RV is for QUALITY FAMILY TIME...not for staring at the 'box'!"

"What about if it rains??" they all cried!!

"...then we get out the Monopoly board" was my reply.

We never missed it either.

(maybe I'm not so dumb after all!!) :)

I have just started working on purging many material possessions. It is difficult at best to get rid of things that have taken a lifetime to acquire. I read something interesting that made sense. Cherished items that have a special meaning in your heart, take a photograph of those things and attempt to give the items to someone else who will enjoy them. You will always have the photograph as a memory.

Dudley....Personally, I believe its better to just cut loose from the stuff.
I don't want to dwell on things that are gone. Move forward and cherish the new memories.
I can tell you that what you'll experience on the road will greatly outweigh any of those old things that are gone away.

I've built quite a few custom hot-rods and choppers throughout the years. Sometimes they almost seem like your children, once you put 7 years into a project like this.

Yeah, I've regretted selling a few of 'em, just because I kin look back and remember how much fun I had with 'em...but times change and so do I. This is why I'm glad I've gotten rid of those things...because they've brought me to where I'm at today. And the stuff I'm building today, will allow me to build newer, better stuff in the future.

and stuff is stuff. Ya can't let it hold ya back.

Carpe' Diem!!
