San Rafael did the right thing banning RVs and oversized vehicles in general, they did this ban in 2017.
I guess they didnt want to turn into a dump.
These bans are all over popular areas in the nation now just like anti-camping ordinances.
RVs are meant for the sticks not to create parking problems in towns and bother home owners by living in front of their homes.
No one wants to wake up to an RV in front of their windows, much less occupied one.
CA big cities especially LA are overrun with dilapidated RVs living in the streets dumping sewage and trash, runnung generators and doing drug activities.
Towns were built for residential life and small vehicle parking, dwelling in towns destroys peace for the residents.
Some/few rural small towns in TX, Midwest and even in the West have little free RV campgrounds with hookups for visitors, this is pretty neat. They hardly get tourism and visiting RVers provide economic benefits. But when tourism becomes excessive and people overstay their welcome, to the RV park or paid campground these tourists must go. No one wants hordes blocking their streets. Walmarts all over are banning campers too, I guess burning those poor kids in the car is what it took.
It really amuses me that anyone would feel so entitled to sleep in RV right on the street in the popular coastal town.
"Since the ban passed, the handful of RVs and vans that parked here have moved on.
Now, long-time residents Jack Fulton and Ron Sieg are clearing off residual trash. These guys have a lot of pride in their neighborhood.
Sieg says when the RVs moved in, he didn’t feel as safe in his own home, he had tools stolen, and had strangers walk into his house.
'I didn't used to lock my door but now I do. There was a drug problem on the street.'"
