once again oregon vs texas but here if i go on craigslist and search for sale all, camping,i come across at least a few people dumping their camping gear cheap, heaters, stoves, sleeping bags, whatever
I noticed that when I briefly lived in Olympia, WA. It is as if people get all these RVs and camping gear, move to the PNW, then realize they aren't going camping nearly as much as the thought they would. Other than living in an unfinished RV in the winter, I wish I was still up there. Once I am on the road, I may try Seattle and/or Portland for a while some summer.

I climbed up to look at the seal around the big, front window. Turns out it was just lying there, with only a couple of chunks of the old grommet keeping it from bouncing out. The plexiglass window is in OK shape, as is the frame itself. So I cleaned up the edge of the plexi and cleaned out the groove. Then I glued the plexi back in place with this Lexel stuff:

I may or may not keep the window when I rebuild that front end. But I needed to seal it up for now, and I have been very pleased with this stuff in the past.

It's kinda rain-ish today here in Austin. I got up on the roof of the RV and scrubbed it down with Simple Green and a driveway scrub brush on a broomstick. This is in preparation for putting that Black Jack sealant up there.

Those broomsticks are never quite long enough. Gonna have to buy an extending pole to scrub the sides of the RV.

Man, am I wore out. I can't believe how exhausting that was. I have never had a lot of upper-body strength or endurance but this is ridiculous. I need to do more physical labor more often.

Keep on working on Mothra!

I know the little I do on the Roadtrek is tiring.  Jan. 4th we can head to the RTR.  This will be the start of me at least taking some walks.  I have been sitting at a desk for way too long.

Cleaned the front and cab before I was totally pooped again. My son came over and was working on sorting out the stuff he doesn't want and on moving his smaller stuff, so I helped him for a while.

When he sold his trampoline, the buyers didn't take the "safety" screen. It is a very durable mesh, that is very flexible. It is still in almost new condition, so I salvaged it to turn into screens and such. It is 41' 9" x 5'. Enough to make an entire screened in patio area with plenty left over. That will be a nice project for, like, a few years from now.

He also gave me a box of pots and pans. He offered silverware for 12, but I don't need that much. Maybe I'll take enough for 2 and leave a set for 10.

If it's not raining tomorrow, I will put down the elastomeric patching compound over the seams and edges. Yes, the Black Jack may cover big holes, but the roof supports are so weak that the joints between the plywood flex a lot. Till I can get EPDM up there, I need to keep what I got from leaking as best as I can. Who knows, maybe I can get the current plywood to last over a year, if I seal it up good.

How are you doing?

I would very much like to see what you are doing and how, if you have time to snap some pictures.

Thank you

Hey Grant, long time no update.

Hope you are making out OK and staying dry

I was not following too closely at the time, but it seemed he dropped off as soon as he 'had to be out' of his apartment, and be moved into Mothra which still appeared to need a tremendous amount of work to be made watertight and livable.

Was just under a good downpour considering how much it would suck to have a leaky roof and was wondering about Grant, since this weather is moving that direction and he's been offline here for 2+ weeks.

It is my hope that he chose to dedicate his time and energy to actually getting a roof over his head, and will be back at some point.

Hoping he finds his way to what he is looking for.

I'm pretty sure he said that once he was out of the apartment he would be very busy and have very limited net time.

I agree with the above statment because it appears that the standards of this society often dictate that working people refrain from any activity that does not net a profit.
