So .. I live in a very large metropolitan area.
I love it and I sometimes intensely dislike it.
This is kind of driving me crazy.
Two years ago I created an escape route to a very small town in another state.
I just have not been able to make myself go there.
I am so spoiled with having everything close by .. museums, concerts, my two favorite eateries, my discount grocery store, shopping, specialty doctors, my massage therapist, my hair stylist, my vet, my dentist...
The small town I'm thinking of has a lot more going for it than most towns that size.
But I just get the creeps thinking about having to visit Atwoods or Walmart for some excitement.
The closest city of major size is 1.5 hours away.
Is anyone else on here going through this?
If so, how did you resolve it?
I guess the obvious answer is just to become a van dweller and that way I can go anywhere I want to.
But I'm not quite ready to give up having at least a sticks and bricks home yet.
It's like a backup plan for if I have to get off the road for some reason.
I went camping in Colorado for a month and was really glad to get back home.
Would probably be much better in a van rather than a tent, but it gave me a little taste of the road.
