I'm becoming a bit confused on the nomenclature myself. But, a diesel thingy that heats my living space is what I'm after.

A diesel thingy that heats my living space, keeps my engine warm, and provides hot water would be quite convenient indeed.

I'm not sure all of those functions will exist in one thingy.

Guess I'll write some of the manufacturers and go from there.

Literally dozens of product categories fit that description, hundreds of vendors.

And that is exactly what a hydronic system **can be designed to do** . Finding a professional to do so is your biggest challenge.

But Webasto and Espar (Planar etc) just make the burner units, not all the other parts, and they're not set up to deal with newbie individual consumers, they just sell wholesale to the pro shops.

That level of skillset is thin on the ground in the NA trucking and RV industries, maybe in the far north or Canada much more likely.

Expeditionary vehicles maybe, but best bet IMO would be marine HVAC specialists.

Or learn yourself and source the various components, you'd save thousands.

Step one get real good at googling.
