My Dad came thru the depression and back then, time and labor was cheap but no money was had for material so you used whatever you could find.
When times got better the old habits remained. Like they say "old habits die hard". Sorry to say but some of his habits have rubbed off on me.
Wish I still had him around, he was n excellent teacher!
