What would be some good material for bedding in a subaru outback? When the backseat is laid down, there's plenty of length to stretch out.

I'll probably put it up each morning, so it needs to be easy-ish to set up and take down. Foam seems to be the best option however its super bulky. I feel like an inflatable would take too much time, but may be the most space efficient since still need to use my car.

Thoughts?

I'd look very seriously at backpacking self-inflating pads. The thick ones are remarkably comfortable and warm, as well as very durable. Just open the valve and they deflate to nothing. They will also bend with the contortions of the car.

I have down and sleeping bags. Underneath them there is a tarp folded several times. Underneath this is 3 layers of reflextix.
When I really need to keep it light and I am staying in a car, I use one fabric layer, usually a sleeping bag and refllextix in a roll.
Reflextix is especially nice in damp, muggy environments.
If you are wet at all, your body will feel 35% cooler.
Cover your head and you can increase you body heat by 8%.

I use a thicker thermarest pad in my Prius - it insulates and I have no moisture issues with it

I have a 30 inch air mattress and a 12 volt pump for my Kia Soul's road trip setup. Inflation is quick and easy.
