Kristi trailers is near me.  Here is a link to a section on their roofs.  They use corrugated galvanized steel, I think.

I am not a fan of screws on the roof, this goes for my older mobile home too.

I just installed a one piece aluminum roof on my home made 16' x 57" wide trailer.  I rounded the edges, rolled it over the sides and screwed two alternating rows of metal roofing screws. Have to remember to post a pic...

The seams on the roof may be better than screws and/or massive amounts of dicor sealant.

The van I am looking at gets about 22 mpg - anyone have very rough idea how hauling a trailer will affect the mpg?

In 2008 we hauled a teardrop (about 1000 lb loaded) with an '04 Dodge Sprinter.  We did freeway miles, over several passes, between the Seattle area to Yellowstone NP and back.  We averaged about 20 MPG for that trip.
