Well friends. The house is up for sale and the camper van is running fine. Got a trailer to carry some cherished possessions and alternate forms of transportation. No stranger to the road but now I'm going to be driving for myself and going where I want and to see what I want to see. Look out southwestern USA, Here we come.

If Thoreau went to the woods to live deliberately, I go into the desert to live even more deliberately. Not to fight against it and in turn die but to learn to live with it and embrace the spirits of the Land of Enchantment. I want to live with the barest of essentials and know the intimacy of the of the dry and barren places. I want to be purged, perfected and purified by the sun the sand and the wind.

PROGRESS ! I took three weeks off from my sentence aka job and made marked strides in freeing myself. Following the suggestions in Bob's book, I purged and got rid of stuff. We had an estate sale and I made a fair amount of money from.....stuff.  I applied for the last two weeks of vacation for June and as I was going to resign anyway, if they refuse to let me take it, out the door I go. I bought a 12 foot by 6 foot trailer and outfitted it for my beloved KLR 650. Soon ! Very soon I will be in the wind.  It is really something when you realize how much time has been wasted but I can't allow myself to think that way. These were the moments that have led me to this point or event horizon and will take me where I'm going which is where I need to be, wherever that is.
