Welcome to the CRVL Forum
In my Van Conversion site below there is a link (at the top) to setting up a "Bug Out" car.
You may find some ideas in it for mods that could be of benefit to you.
I've seen people who have purchased small retired U-Haul trailers and fixed them up for cheap.
Scrounging, scavaging, yard sales, and flea marketing should be the skills you will want to develop
now. You can outfit yourself for cheap if you go about it right.
I started with a small Ford Van 6 cyl engine & 3 spd manual. Later got a hitch for it and bought a small
econo car and got a tow bar for it. If you had an old used 4 X 8 trailer you could set up a bed in it, build
a side door on it, and rig an awning over it you'd be set. You could deal with the inside of the car any way you want to where it will serve you best.
Just read the various topics here and you'll gain ideas and see what is possible. Consider your first need to be safety, then your comfort in your rig.
Used 5x8's are around that may have had four or five owners. Most have been painted over bought for moving or used for construction projects and resold.
I once had a young guy come to me with one of these he had painted white. He wanted me to letter it and paint his business logo on it. He was an amateur magician working kids birthday parties and such.
I explained to him he could pick up auctioneering and work the flea markets and storage building sales
where people want to get rid of stuff. (pickers who clean out garages & basements for salvage, and then take the good stuff and leave him to sell what's left to those who want the thrill of small change auction bidding employed him when he started) A few months later he returned to me wanting to
make a panel he could put over the magician logo and display the "auctioneer" logo he wanted.
His phone number, email, and website URL were already lettered on his trailer.
This just to show you are only limited by your creativity.
