Yes they do make toy hauler motorhomes, we had one in the park campground and I believe it was hauling a UTV.

Newmar makes one but it’s a gasser and won’t tow the weight we want to tow.

Qxxx. We have thought over every possibility. The RV we are in is a great rig and really well designed but not for two old farts that aren’t in the best of shape.  It has a corner bed that’s comfy but not for two as one would have to crawl over the other to use the bathroom at night. Also with Johns awful back he sleeps in a recliner as he can’t sleep flat.

I want to rectify that by getting a rig big enough to put in an adjustable bed of some kind for him. It’s going to have to be a big rig for that.

We just aren’t willing or able to compromise comfort any longer. It’s too hard on us.

So a big rig it is. I also don’t want to have to stop and get out and walk to my “home” is why a Class A is probably going to be in the picture.

Plus there is his tool stash and my sewing stuff stash we need storage for.
I have a twin size adjustable bed from Ikea. They don't sell them anymore. It has a wood frame and wood slats that sits into a metal twin bed frame. With a bit of wood working it could even be narrowed in width. But it is in Seattle and I will be using it until I go on the road around November 1st. Not in perfect condition but it still adjust nicely and the motor is still strong. Head raises, it also raises at the knee area.

Isn't Illinois in the rust belt? If I were going to travel for one, a retirees old rig in Florida would be a lot better.

Yes it is, but not all rigs winter here. Word of caution on Florida rigs, if you have issues with mold be prepared, lots of rigs down there get shut up in a storage lot so mold is rampant. My folks kept theirs at the house and ran a dehumidifier, it still reeked of mold after a couple of years.

Yup, I could have had my moms gorgeous Class C when she passed, but no way in hell would I want to try and deal with all that mold.

Thanks Queen. They did have a newmar but it was older than we want to go. We are hoping to stay under 10 years old.

I think we need to start considering other brands and not just Newmar. I’d rather stick a needle in my eye than do this shopping.

Cammalu, I’ve been hearing good things about Tiffen... but new they cost a ton!

Never will get a Thor anything. It’s amazing how many have two bathrooms now. What a waste of space

Um, is this the problem, they leave you longing for more?

I'm not sure the slogan here was chosen wisely.

We were looking for a gas RV, but found a great deal on a Diesel.

What we love about the diesel is that the engine is in the back and the generator is in the front. So it is quite when we are driving (engine in the back) and if we use the generator it is in the front (we sleep in the back)

Also the engines tend to go 2-3X longer than gas engines.

Best of luck on your hunt.

I watched an old movie last night (North by Northwest) and caught a glimpse of an old Scenicruiser.  I have always wanted one since the '50's.  They are just too cool.  So I went and looked on the internet and found my dream one and also thought of you guys Cammalu.  Here are some pics:

I rode in one of the old twin engine ones that had an engine problem. The driver got out, opened the back, moved a big lever and we continued on with one engine. They got better with the addition of the V-8 2 stroker.

wow Brain I guess when you dream you dream big. that thing is a monster. highdesertranger

It is ONLY 40 feet long. I am surprised you don't remember them. I got to ride in a few in my youth. I don't think it would do me much good these days though. To much of an asphalt queen for me now. I'd tear the bottom out of it in short order.
