Cam did you look at Showhaulers Super C's? Their spendy but they don't cut corners. The have some rigs that can pull 30,000 lbs.

No but I’m going to now. Thanks.

How about pulling a bumper pull cargo trailer or small toy hauler custom built out as a bedroom/bathroom and using the class C bedroom as a sewing room?

What we find we really want is a Class A or one of those Super Cs that can pull a cargo trailer with a small car and an ATV on board. I have no idea how much that’s going to weigh.

I really don’t want to have to get out at night on a stop to go back to a trailer of some kind to sleep. Half the time when one of us is driving the other is in the back watching TV or something.

The cat would be pissed if he couldn’t have his freedom too [emoji16]

Qxxx. A cow on the roof would fit right in at YARC Camp. But what’s that guy doing in the blue shirt?

We might go look at this one.

I like the roof [emoji16]. What I don’t like is the weird shaped sofa (I don’t even get it), the lack of kitchen counterspace (It’s an illusion that it’s there. Once you take the top off the sink and stove all that space is almost gone). Why the hell do they have to put a gazillion lights in the ceiling? They going to have a dance in there or what?

Plus.... it makes me want to puke to pay that price for anything ten years old. I guess that’s just the way it is. I keep telling myself that we are both old as dirt and why the hell not be as comfy as possible.

We both found our way here to Cheap RV Living years ago for a reason. I cut corners any way I can.

Tx2sturgis . Half a million. Holy shit. No way I’m going to do that. I would be unhappy everyday I used it. Were those the ones you texted me last night?

Just a comment. On any of those with one or more slides on the curb or campsite side, you lose room under the awning.

That may or may not matter to you...but having slides on both sides also means limited internal usability if the slides are in, such as when traveling.

That Fleetwood 34M had slides on the street side only, and that left a huge amount of space under the awning...which was nice.

It’s a Fleetwood. I’m not going there.

I do like having an awning space outside

The part of the sofa that sticks out oddly might be where the motor and/or pumps for the slide out is located. Or it could be where other utility components are installed.

Cammalu you might consider looking for forums of owners of the exact motorhome when you find something you like. Many years ago when I was looking for an older quality motorhome I was lucky to find Barthmobile.com which was already an established group of owners that knew about every nut, bolt and history of every coach (they even listed them by vin number) which was amazing when it came time to purchase my 1983 Barth in 2000. It is unfortunate that many of the posters there are gone but the information is still mostly there. Today's motorhomes are so complex and expensive you almost need a team of experts to insure you get what you are paying for. Escapees have gatherings where they have experts with the equipment weighing rigs and making suggestions. They have group discussions, classes and plenty of owners sitting around in the evenings that are happy to share their experiences with almost any motorhome you would consider buying. I would suggest to start by maybe going to them either online, by phone or probably the best way visit their parks and gatherings. After all they are sort of the RTR of wealthy motorhome owners that fulltime.

Thanks bullfrog. We did join escapees a couple of years ago but never managed to go to any events. During rtr a couple years ago I rode over to their group on my atv to check it out. Once the gal realized I was with the rtr her whole attitude changed. I know she isn’t typical and I can’t judge them all by that but it kinda left a bitter pill in my mouth....

If someone wants to play snotty snob with me I can instantly change and out snob the best of them. It’s so juvenile...

That goes for the reverse snobs that aren’t happy with the big rigs too. I find many, many more of them. I don’t know why people even bother to use energy in small minded crapola. Life is way too short.

A lot of "got more than you attitude" when it should be "live smarter, simpler and happier with you". It is so easy to spend so much more for something that won't work as well sometimes. I know because I have done just that and as you get older you start to need something easier and more comfortable but it can become a nightmare if you don't put a whole bunch of time and effort into making sure it will work and last. Lots of people out there want to convince you they have figured it out when really they just want your money and hope they never see you again especially if they know what they sold you will break in a few years.

Thank Bullfrog. If it weren’t for Johns poor back I’d sure keep what we have. I haven’t found another RV anywhere that’s as great as this one. I’m going to be sad to see her go when the time comes. We even had it painted a couple years ago.

Camm is there ANY WAY to give him a single adjustable bed in your rv you have now? Nah, nevermind, I bet you guys tried a ton of scenarios to make it work and it can't.....that is rotten tho, you find a floorplan ya love but in the end it doesn't work for ya anymore. It is very very hard to find something new when you have what you want already in your driveway :) keep on looking, something will float your boat :)

Roamer I wish there was. This RV just isn’t big enough to try to squeeze anything else in. We will just keep searching. I do it in spurts then quit once I can’t stand it anymore.

Cam, that is such a sweet rig. Could you take out the current bed and replace with a special one for John. Then remove the couch up front and replace that with single bed ala couch for you to sleep on? I am thinking of a single mattress bed plus some rather large firm cushions to rest your back against when sitting, rather than something that converts.

There really isn’t a way. We continue our search

ahh Camm yea I figured you guys tried every way to make it fit LOL

just continue the search is all you can do.....thing is one vehicle will stand out and suit you fine :) you just haven't seen it just yet but you will!!

Toyhaulers may indeed give you the space you're looking for (as has been mentioned previously). Do they make them in Class A's? I don't know.

Maybe peek at the bunkhouse models? I saw one that didn't have all the built in cabinetry
(that would be difficult to remove). It had four bunks that would easily come out and/or could be folded up against the wall. Also had TV etc connections in that room.

A salesman once told me that many retired couples buy a new bunkhouse with the idea that the grandkids could take trips with them. A year later, they are back to trade it in because trips with the grandkids didn't happen. Which tells me you may be able to find a fairly new, gently used one in really good condition?

Don't give up! There is something out there for you. Keep looking.

Best wishes!
