I told my manager yesterday to remove me of a particular moron I work for. She said she would consider doing it. Today I called in sick to add emphasis to my previous exclamation of resolving my issue pronto. I'm currently at a cool beach town recovering from my sick of work issues. Van dwelling has afforded me the luxury and courage to tell the boss to take this job and shove it up where the sun doesn't shine, since I no longer pay the landlord. I never used to call in sick before. I've decided not to be a martyr anymore.

RTFO dude.
sunday at the flea I pulled in 1k, take this job and Perhaps I should hold a class on how to buy and sell on the road,

You should!

I actually plan on doing that. Working on flipping here in this city before I hit the road, hopefully to get some nice experience before hand.

...I don't want to sound rude, but just out of curiosity, what do you sell that brings that kind of cash?
Is it a particular item that is sought after by specific people of ethnic backgrounds (i.e. Latina's & etc.)?
I ask since I know of certain regions in the USA, some items sell better than other items (such as handmade necklaces & etc.).

***Also, other than foraging, how does a person find free food (other than foodbanks) when they have no money for food?
I am still pondering this MAJOR stumbling-block (particularly when I am on a bicycle tour).:-/
I run out of lot's of $ (spent on food) when I tour via bicycle (like this summer).
Now I have to get a winter job to save up for next yrs. tour.
Thnkx in advance

While i am not on a bike garage sales are not to be passed by. Look for the obvious, silver and gold but don't overlook the not so obvious collectables I bike every day and here in SF have found people throwing out persian rugs and paintings.

I AM IN A STIX AND BRIX. Worth a lot these dayz. But without cash you will not make money. You gotta have cash to make cash.

In state employment here, when we retire we get paid for one quarter of our sick leave hours remaining, and full pay for any annual leave hours on the books. So when I retired this past July, I got the equivalent of a full month's pay for my annual leave, and two months equivalent for my sick leave. I had a LOT of sick leave hours........
I didn't skimp though - I was using them as needed. But now, with the stress greatly reduced, I find I am feeling much better physically and mentally!
Florida state employees get eight hours of annual leave a month, and 13 and change for sick leave once fully vested.

Last time I was at the food bank I saw a guy loading up his bike with canned goods. I suggest you get one of those little tow behind cargo trailers to help lower the center of gravity.

I called in sick again today. I'm not a state employee, so it's use it or lose it for me. Only unused vacation days are payable if I leave. I actually did end up getting a chest cold cuz 2 nights again I woke up middle of night from some jackass firing off bottle rockets and waking me up and I was wide awake at 1am after that. Due to little sleep that night plus the aggravation at work, that must have depleted my immune system. I'm normally almost never sick.

bobbert, your question about getting free food or help with food is so good I hate to see it get buried here in Caseys thread (besides we are hijacking it).

Would you please start a new thread and ask it in its own thread? And if you don't want to or don't know how I will by pasteing your question into it.

Thanks
Bob

But Casey!!!!!!!!

Think of how many watches you could have bought with two days wages!!!???? ;)

p.s. Sorry bro, I couldn't resist. If that's getting old, I'll stop!

Hi Bob,

Thanks, no worries. I get paid sick days, haha! ;-) Looks like I'll be going back to work tomorrow. Ugh! I'm mentally tired. Physically tired too. At least it will be a short work week for me, hah!
