When I was a wee tot, had a neighbor who had lost his drivers license for DUI, so he drove an early 40's tractor ( no license or registration required). It had a box mounted on the back for groceries, beer, tools.
He also dragged a 6x8 cabin on skids to different logging sites- mobile living before it was cool.

My mom had her drivers license given to her when she was 15 years old so she could make deliveries for the only drug store for miles around. At 89 years old she quit driving but still has the license!

We soon changed to the BDUs (Battle Dress Uniforms for those non military) which looked bad on everyone.

Had a friend a couple decades ago that, on his 5th (I think), DUI had the judge say, "Sir, you need to decide what you like more, driving or drinking".  Russel answered "I never thought about it like that", took out his wallet and handed the judge his license, the courtroom erupted with laughter; ... of course he never stopped driving
