Hello there! I just purchased a van that I plan to convert. I picked up the book on vandwelling a couple of years ago and it started a little fire inside of me, but I'm not sure I'd be up for getting rid of everything and going full time. I have a house that I pay nothing on, have minimum bills and a huge garden but there's this part of me that wants the road pretty badly. I plan to go out on the road for a few months this fall with my child and see what we can see.
I am fully behind the philosophy/necessity(for some) and believe it will continue to grow in popularity.

I also wondered if there was a place on here to offer my safe driveway for overnight parking, or if that was ill-advised.

Can I get back to you in a few days?

I have to get permission from my probation officer to leave the state.

That's a very kind and generous offer, Ecoseem. Please be cautious. This IS a public forum.

Welcome! It sounds like you'll have the best of both worlds - an inexpensive home base and traveling van. Don't forget to post pictures as you convert the van. :)

Point taken.

A surprising number of people have both green thumbs that need to be in the soil and itchy feet that need to be moving. What to do? Buy a van and little piece of land and do both!!

I think you are in for the best times of your life!
