Our family doesn't live in our RV yet, but we're headed that way.<div><br></div><div>It's pretty exciting to find this forum so I can talk to people about our project and ask questions about the logistics of living in a motorhome without people looking at me like I'm crazy and a half! <img src="/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> Lookin' forward to that.</div><div><br></div><div>My name is Shelby and I'm 20. I live with my parents and three younger siblings near Houston, Texas.</div><div><br></div><div>We decided to move into a motorhome in the Summer of '11. We heard a series of sermons about what Scripture has to say about debt and began to think about our credit cards, extra vehicle and mortgage on our spacious brick townhouse. We went to visit some friends in Alabama and the Pastor of the church there preached about debt. On the way home to Texas, our gameplan was fleshed out ... ending with these three steps:</div><div><ul><li>Buy an RV</li><li>Sell the House</li><li>Move into the RV</li></ul><div>Well, we wanted to buy the RV with cash and yet one with a layout to suit our family. We also had to get a motorhome because we didn't have a truck to pull a pull-behind and didn't want to get into debt for that.</div></div><div><br></div><div>This meant a trip to the boondocks of Lousiana to buy a VERY used motorhome that needed some major repairs... (the thing didn't even have a bathroom floor!)</div><div><br></div><div>This has been a challenge and a blessing at the same time. The challenge part is obvious: we are trying to use cash-only (no more loans!) and be frugal, so that means doing the remodeling/rebuilding/engine repair all by ourself! The blessing part is being able to remodel and replace the furniture and appliances with the exact logical layout that would fit our family's needs.</div><div><br></div><div>It's quite an adventure, and we're documenting it here if anyone is interested: home-sweet-motor-home.blogspot.com</div><div><br></div><div>I've enjoyed cheaprvliving.com for some time now... and have definitely used it for ideas concerning our own motorhome! Look forward to getting to know the people on this forum! </div><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
