I plan to retire and take SS at 62 next year and want to hit the road in a van or maybe a Class C. I don't own much, so I will rely mainly on SS to live on and would like to do some traveling. I'm divorced and have some health problems, so I won't be interested in finding a redhot mama next year but it would be nice to find someone to split (mainly gas) expenses with.

So I have this idea to install a hi-top on my Dodge van and convert it into a camper van but also buy a small travel trailer. Then I would try to find a congenial lady that would have use of the trailer while I stayed in the van as we traveled and camped at Quartzsite, national forests,Walmarts, etc. We both could save money and I think that it would be a good opportunity for someone to try out the mobile lifestyle without having to invest a lot first. I've done a fair amount of camping and van travel, so I feel that I can also offer 'seasoned traveler' experience. Another possibility would be just seasonal snowbird travel or heading to the mountains for July and Aug. and keeping my apartment. Splitting the travel costs could make this possible and I sure couldn't afford to do it otherwise. It also might be a good idea to maintain a homebase, I suppose.

Thoughts, ladies?
