This is the main website that I go to, outside of Facebook, because I recently started living the Vandweller life. But I do belong to five forums, devoted to very different subject matter. I'm quite eclectic in my interests. And I'm starting to read a few blogs too. It seems the most dull people I've met are those who can only think about one thing ie. sports, cars, shopping, sex, algae, etc. So you guys have other places you go to or is this website the sum of your existence? (Not that there is anything wrong with that) :) PS I I'm probably offending anyone that does have a one-track mind, especially those who adore algae. Sorry.

I go between 3......2 RV forums where they think you cant survive out here unless you have a 150 k rig and a RV park with full hook-ups you cant survive out here.....not to mention they spend my yearly budget monthly!!

And then Here where most that are out here fulltime are for real and know what low budget means! and a thousand a month is a gravy budget

of course then I follow Eric on youtube and a few other fulltimers!

I frequent about 5 and am a member on more than I can remember.
Here, advrider(motorcycle forum) and youtube are where I spend most of my time online, I don't do the whole myspace/facebook thing anymore.

What's wrong with s@x?? Now I'm offended. :D:p I go to a few different ones. Mostly about electronics/gadgets. As for FB, I only read about other people's antics, I don't usually post anything about my personal life. Even my family aren't on my FB list.

I started with IRV2 but seemed to be mostly wealthy guys. Went to Vannin which is a cool site but more about customizing than living in a van. A member there referred me here and I'm hooked. I will go to the Ford truck forum once in a while for mechanical questions. The only other site I visit is the Poodle Forum.

Cool! Set me up with those forums Lucky mike

Five RV forums [fora?] and three non-RV forums. I used to belong to backpacking and kayaking forums but I sold my kayak last week and haven't been backpacking in a while.

I frequent three forums, this one daily and two Studebaker forum sites (as I own a 1953 Studebaker Starliner Hardtop, and love all Studebaker cars and trucks). Also spend time cruising Craigslist looking for van related stuff.

Here's one I enjoy reading:http://livinginmyvan.com/

This gal lives in her van, rather than roadtripping and sightseeing. Well written and interesting, and I love her cast of (real) characters.

Pretty much just this one. I loathe most forums. The folks here seem less motivated by greed and viagra and more motivated by happiness through simplicity. But I'm fickle and childish twats usually prevail. Facebook has managed to suck 90 percent of rational human interaction from the Internet and turn it into a Chocolate Rain of unwashed masses. I cannot possibly smoke enough bud to be able to wade through the paralytic stupidity, mass marketing, and invasion of privacy.

I read some futurist forums and some tech forums but don't linger long enough. They serve as a hub to link out of for actual information. I had to vacate most of the Internet. I'm semi retired.

Hey Minimoto...I'm on ADV too.

I've got about 5 different forums I'm on, but I only check this one and ADV everyday.

3 of the others are motorcycle touring forums, and I'm on 1 sailing forum too. (I do most of my traveling by motorcycle) :D

I used to mess around on a few of the RV sites, but as Mike mentioned, they are all about who's got the biggest and best.
They run from "cheap" :D

I pretty much limit myself to an eBay board I've been on for years, Youtube/g00gle+, and here.
Once in a while I visit Reddit Vandweller threads.

I type too slow to keep up with much more, besides emails.
Shoot, I had trouble keeping up with a blog.

Margie basically uses her laptop to play games with jewels and bubbles, and such.

I visit a ton of sites, but only post to very few.

Mainly I like RV & Off Grid related sites, but have found that some of the tent camping sites have some great ideas for portable systems too. It was on one of those that I found out about the portable solar powered bug zappers, and I really love mine.

On a different site I learned about a simple jumper cable to charge my house battery, and haven't needed to use my generator since.

I love the fact there is such a wealth of GREAT information available on the net, but I am also dismayed by the amount of profiteering going on, giving people poor or dangerous advice for the sake of making money, and I see that happening all over the place too.

Since I was a kid, I always heard the saying "Misery Loves Company" and the internet gives a whole new meaning to that.

I do not know the number of forums I am on. I have moderated two political forums, and now have a complete disdain for how the two party system has caused the decline if this country.

I am on a legal forum, as well as a couple Dodge forums. One of them, Ramchargercentral, has helped me do all the mechanical repairs needed to turn my basket case into a running machine.

I keep track of my internet friends on Facebook. Family and internet friends who do not let the political trash rule their thinking. The funny thing is many of them were from sites I have either moderated, or been an active member of.

I am on eBay as a seller. Cleaning out my stuff. I made about $600 just off of the DVD's alone! (Into the van!)

This site here has been extremely valuable in the information that has saved me as much as I have spent so far.

Over the years I have gotten memberships on many forums, but have stuck with only a few. It doesn't take long to see if the forum folks are the type I can 'jell' with or not. So I have only a half dozen I regularly check out daily. This is one of them.
I do check in on IRV2, but y'all are right, a LOT of money and fancy rigs there! And they were quick to tell me my E150 "can't be made into an RV" ...... Well, if that means not packing in full size fridges, easy chairs, Queen size beds, big screen TV, clothes washer/dryer, etc.... yep, they are right!
Here the atmosphere is more conducive to reality. Y'all are DOING, not just showing off mobile macmansions. So it keeps me coming back. That's what forums are for, learning and passing on experience and ideas!

i mainly go to 2 these days, an anime forum and here. Occasionally i visit an mma forum or two like sherdog.

I belong to a lot of forums , but when my computer crashed last week and I had to reload my favorite forums on my new computer I loaded this one , a Cargo trailer Conversion Forum , a couple of Dodge Forum's , a Ford Contour Forum , a Homesteading a Tractor Forum , several RV Forums , a Skoolie Forum , and a Fee Bay/Prey Pal Discussion Board.

If You really want to see some of the Snobbery on other RV sites , ask about info on building a Dog Nosed School Bus Conversion . LOL

Bob

I'd have to agree, Bob, that some forums are pretty snobbish. Still, I guess there are forums for everyone. I like this one and RV.net. I also belong to a Born Free forum [until I get my Tiger] and a Tiger forum. Neither is very active due to the limited ownership, especially with the Tigers. Used to be on the Paddling.net and a backpacking forum but since I sold my kayak last month and no longer backpack, I let those go.

I also like RV.NET too , as there is a lot of knowledge shared on that site , plus the honesty of Good Sam's owner Marcus to personally answer on the Road Side Assistance Forum along with his team , but to leave the negative post up for all to read .
I also forgot to mention that I also follow several Metal Detecting , Prospecting and Gold Mining Forums based in Arizona and Colorado .
Bob
Ps
Like last night , I learned from a member on a Rural Living Site that sells a 12 volt solar powered well pump at his business , that will be perfect for our Portable Gemstone Mining Sluice that we take to Fairs and Campgrounds ( the Green Loving Yuppies camping in there 40 Ft. $ 250,000 class A's ( with ALL the Comforts of Home ) should love the idea of Fossils only being in our mining rough , not using fossil fuel to power it . ) LOL

+1

A few RV forums (this one being my favorite), effin' facebook only when really bored or needing info on an upcoming event, a frugal forum I've been on almost 10 years, a few other money saving ones and an off grid one every once in a while.

hmmm... combine them (except effin' fb)... rv's, saving money and off grid. :)
