Hey Bri, Thanks man! I had one about 10 years ago that was purpose built for porting. I always hated getting rid of it. I have been looking at some of those cool add-ons for them lately! There really are some fun ones and of course I think I need them all LOL! I definitely have to get one of the little hammer/chisel handpieces! Very cool! I am pretty stoked about getting it, very impatient when waiting for new toys! Delivery date is next Friday <img src="/images/boards/smilies/frown.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">

1oleman, sorry to hear about that loss! That would be a hard one to handle for sure! Hope you had good insurance! With a class A, I bet you can get it all setup nice! I squeeze all mine into a 17' van! Granted I don't have a dedicated work bench or stone working gear, but I do cram a lot of stuff in that small space so there is definitely hope you can do it in a 30 footer <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">

Hi guys....if you go back to cheaprvliving home age and then click on the button for "living in a converted bus" and look at the interior picture with no one in it, you will see my jewelers bench across from the wood stove. Man that was a sweet setup. I carved a nice little heart out of fossil ivory and set a little oval piece of apple jade in the center of it for my girlfriend...now my wife of 25 years....fun stuff. She still has the tiny little heart...my heart....<br>Bri<br><br>

Hi Mike...not really...that was soooooooolong ago. It was just my regular homebuilt (to the ancient jeweler's standard bench design) that I bolted in and a nice swivel/tilt oak office chair that I rescued out of a town building scrap heap in Healy, AK.<br>I will attach a couple of stock shots of one off the internet...the small tabletop bench I have also...very nice for apartments, etc. <br><br>Bri<br>

Thanks for posting those Bri! I can probably pull that pic off the site and blow it up a bit without too much loss too. I like that little desktop bench! It reminds me a lot of an old Gerstner chest I had for my micrometers etc. I have been wanting another one for a long time! <br>

Katie...thank you my friend...funny, that is how I think of you....<br><br>Mike...you are welcome...I know you don't have room for something like that in your van though....I did have the luxury of space in the old bus.....my first metal smithing/jewelry teacher invented and built a wonderful unit that worked like a tryptic (?sp) but you carried it from the top and the two front pieces folded out to the sides and a benchtop folded down. You had to clamp it to a tabletop but he built it to make stuff at a show or craft fair while he was waiting for customers...he was able to hang most of his tools in it and he carried another case like a Gerstner for the rest. <br>I too have an old steel machinist chest for my jewelry hand tools.<br>Bri<br><br>

I plan to train harder and with more commitment in parkour, a physical activity that expresses freedom. I plan to engineer my van into a functioning piece of awesome with moving parts to optimize space, a lighting system that pulses with music, a desktop computer integrated and a set of wifi antennas to pick up the nearest spots, etc., etc.. <br><br>Most of my time will be spent on my way to places, because taking my time is one of the most enlightening things I can do. It's easy to figure out if I care to go somewhere when it takes me 30 minutes to walk/bike there, and that helps me understand whether or not I am spending my day doing things that are really worth it. Also, time spent traveling on foot is time spent well. Nothing beats a solid 20 minutes of alone time to think about stuff and enjoy the world for what it is.<br><br>

I also am familiar with weaving chainmail, though when I used to do it, I made chainmail barding for traditional scale (1:9) model horses for the fantasy classes at shows.&nbsp; Nowadays much of my free time is spent delving into role playing games online.&nbsp; Of particular interest is the World of Darkness (old, not new).&nbsp; I also enjoy D&amp;D, and plan to start showing my cat.&nbsp; I have plans to purchase a second Sphynx cat, a female kitten this time, and to show her and eventually breed her after she earns her title.&nbsp; I am exceptionally protective of my cat, and he is probably my most cherished hobby.&nbsp; Taking him shopping in his stroller, buying him new clothes, he's my constant companion.&nbsp; There are days when I think to myself he is the perfect "man".&nbsp; Unconditional love, no complaints, snuggles all the time, he chatters at me (ok, so it's a one sided conversation, I'll with hold the sarcastic comment for now), and he's very handsome in all his bald glory (no shedding is awesome!).&nbsp; What's not to adore?<br>
