I've been lurking around for awhile and thought I'd finally say hello. I'm retired and hope to do some traveling out west soon to see as many national parks, monuments, etc. that I can. I currently have a Travel Lite truck camper (1300 lbs) on my Toyota Tundra 4x4, but I'm thinking about downsizing to a commercial aluminum camper shell, like those made by Century or ARE. The Travel Lite is great for good roads, but it's top heavy and I wouldn't want to take it on bad roads in remote areas, which is exactly where I want to go. If I do downsize, I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions on how to best equip a camper shell, so please be patient with me. I'll offer any help I can on subjects that I am familiar with. I have quite a bit of experience with a class C motorhome, which I owned prior to buying the truck camper. Anyway, hello to all and I look forward to being a part of this forum.
