Hi everyone!

I retired from computer programming in October of 2021 at 54, after 40 years. I was in the Air Force for 5 years for some of those years. Now I'm working on converting a 2005 Chevy Astro Van. It should be done enough to get on the road the first of the year. Then I'll be on the road until I'm tired of it. Looking for a place to retire. New hobbies will include whittling, ukulele and drawing as well as photography and electronics. Plenty to do and see. I'm looking forward to meeting people out there! I'll bring a deck of cards. The low stress, minimalist lifestyle is very appealing. ' will see how it works out!

Happy trails!
Scott

Welcome to the forum and grats on your retirement, Scott. Good choice for your rig.

Thanks Carla! U have a Astro?
No, but I noticed they are used often by people traveling the Pan-American Highway. There was a discussion here about the Astro and how reliable they are.

.
... the Astro and how reliable they are.
I've heard the word "bulletproof" used in regard to them. They are amazing if their oil is changed regularly. This is my third. I'm using aluminum instead of wood to do the build out. I'm really looking forward to getting out and exploring with it. Maybe our paths will cross.

Happy trails,
Scott

Welcome to the Van Living Forum.

Since you were in the Air Force, have you considered using a drone with photography ?

Meanwhile, let me invite you to check out the two links below.

Look at the post immediately above Bullfrog's (the one B is responding to).
You'll see a mention of "links below". Only you won't see any links.
B is alerting eDJ that the links didn't make it.
(That seems to happen occasionally, I don't remember why or what fixes it but it's A Thing.)

Either that or it means there are no link sausages in the underworld; not sure.

Sorry! Was meant as a reply to eDj’s post as sometimes his very informative links don’t appear. Just so you know I don’t get link sausage down here Morgana! Lol!!!

Good! For some reason they don’t show up for me! I must be doing something wrong! I found them finally Duh!
