Hello,
I purchased a 2019 NV200 cargo van, and will be moving into it full time Feb,7,2020.
I currently reside in a major metropolitan area, and will continue to do so because of my work location.
I will be purchasing the America the Beautiful pass, as well as local municipalities passes for parking and visiting on my days off. Rent is sky high, and as ironic as it may sound to a non van-dweller... My quality of living will drastically start to improve...ie: I will finally be able to afford dental work, or even a little travel.
Anyway this is my situation - I am a little nervous as my move in date approaches. Though am looking forward with a hope I have never had. Glad to be a part of this forum. Thank you ?

Wow, it amazes me how housing costs in metropolitan areas can be so steep. I applaud you for attempting this lifestyle. Good luck on your venture... maybe if more renters made such a move the price would come down. But sadly there is plenty of people waiting to rent that same place and struggle financially as you did. “Van dwellers” to me seem like a crowd that has lifted the middle finger to money hungry local governments and such and have embraced a lifestyle that is more freeing. I’m assuming you have a place or places you can park safely and all... and then your free to just go as far as you can on your time off work.
Who knows, maybe an employment change could get you in an area where your more free to live this lifestyle if that gets to be a problem. So good luck on that and getting the medical attention you need. Our struggles are real no matter who or what they are.

Welcome VL. Save that dental work and have it done with a trip to Mexico. You get super quality work at a fraction of the cost. While you still have an address you may want to complete a couple of things. Get a passport for one.

Welcome VL to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Housing cost in major areas is expensive a very small, micro housing, one room apartment in Seattle is $800. It is hard to find a room in a shared house for less than that unless you are sharing the room with a second person.
