I am a new user to this web site and a newbie in the rv world. I am going to pick up a 21 foot bumper pull trailer in the morning.

I have a question. Not sure were it should go, but I will start here.

I am using an F-150 with the 5.4 engine . I will be pulling a 21 " trailer that weighs about 5000 lb empty. After I pick it up I will take it into the mountains west of denver to our property. So I plan on moving it about a hundred miles and have no plans in traveling at this time. The dealer wants to sell me a weight dist, sway control hitch. So my questions are
1) given my configuration how much help is this hitch going to be?

2) Considering that I do not plan on taking on the road at this time, it seems like the smartest thing to do is wait to get the special hitch until I need it.

Appreciate your comments.

Dan

You might read posts or ask at a more specialized forum:

But my guess is that your current setup will be adequate for what you want to do (obviously try to drive gently with no sudden jerks...)
