Hey Everyone!

I hope no one minds, but I've purposely neglected to introduce myself since joining about a week ago...... I needed time to feel comfortable in doing so, and after reading (lurking I guess ), I've come to realize that, even though I'm more introverted than many - most of you guys (introvert, extrovert, etc.) seem like my kind of people.

I have a 1993 Dodge B250 conversion van that was once easier on the eyes - I stripped it out a few years back to use as a haul all van, but it has potential to once again be a comfortable ride for getting lost somewhere. However, even though I'm not on the road at the moment, I do have a little experience. Years ago (mid 90's) I owned a full size International school bus that I converted;

Think, Hippy-Centric

I was extremely happy to call this ole bus my home for a year, traveling from east central Florida to Florida panhandle and eventually landing in the Mountains of NC, oh the view of my back yard... BTW, my last gas fill up in SC was .89 cents per Gal - can you imagine that now?

- But, unfortunately the 'NORMAL' world sucked me back in, and I eventually left my ole bus behind in the state of GA .

I've never been rooted; since leaving home for the military at 18 back in the early 80's, I've grown way too accustomed to being on the move (six months in one place = BORING!). My one marriage and two other long term relationships suffered and eventually failed due to my inability to stay put... and now, after the ending of a nine year relationship two years ago, I really think I have the brain power to know, "them women folk are better off without me!" (I've since moved to four different cites in those two years, and it's past time to move on again).

- I neeeed to be on the move, I need change, I need freedom!

I've traveled and seen many places on this rock - but I know in my heart that I have so much more to see before I die, especially of the western United States. Maybe this will happen for me now that I've found this forum, and of course, have read Bob's book (Kudos, Bob) - both are very inspiring to me.... and even though I'm now a little older and have grown a little less sure of myself and a lot more apprehensive of getting out on the road alone ... just reading through many of your postings on the forum, have helped rebuild my confidence - somewhat anyway.

- I have great respect for all of you that have the guts to continue to follow your dreams.

Hope to meet some of you, some day!

Welcome, you sound like a perfect fit to the lifestyle, you'll find everyone very helpful with questions and you'll fit right in

Hello World is an old school programmer first greeting. Are you a programmer? You sound like a vagabond gypsy soul. a few are here. Good luck with the life, and you are correct that it is most difficult for the female counterparts to be interested in that arrangement, given nesting instinct.

Welcome!

My first van was a 94 Dodge B350 named Monstro. He was a good van, very roomy and good for the mountains.

Thanks for the welcome folks!

@ offroad - No I'm not a programmer, although I started out pursuing a degree in it. Yet half way through I changed my major and many, many years later finally graduated with a degree in the health care field. But, yes! "Hello World" was the very first program I wrote as a course assignment - and to age myself - it was written in 'Basic'.
