I am getting closer to finally getting wheels under me again. After a stretch in suburbia, I will be retiring after building my own vardo. I have some things I need to move, so thought I could build a vardo shell, move my stuff, then finish the inside to live in. My initial plan was to buy some property, but I am now thinking about traveling a bit first.

I've lived in lots of vehicles with wheels over the years, although we didn't travel much; school bus, '65 Airstream, Silver Streak and more. It dawned on me this year that I have a lot more experience living in small spaces than most folks. Old habits are starting to kick in and I am still purging more stuff. Looking forward to chatting with y'all.

Welcome Notsothoreau to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

Hello right back at ya notsoThoreau And welcome to the forum your experience will give you a good foundation and maybe you’ll have something to share with the rest of us. I for one am looking forward to hearing from you. Again welcome.

So once you get your wheels ready....where's the first place you wanna roll into?

Would love a vardo. I love them. Will yours have a toilet or shower? There’s a company that builds really cheap ones with heated floors so I can’t have a shower. I’ve seen some beautiful ones.
