Has anyone found a recent unlimited HOTSPOT cellular plan?

I have used Visible to tither my laptop (15" inch screen) to watch amazon video, and worked just fine. No throttle, 720 resolution without buffering.
Later at night, though. I don't know when are the busy hours.

I have tmobile, the old fart plan, plus a couple of tablets. We get a certain amount of LTE hotspot, but unlimited 3g. That's enough to watch videos, even using my tablet with Roku. Occasionally it's slow, but it works much better than our current CenturyLink-where we're lucky to get 3mbps!

It depends on where you are..what the speeds will be during busy hours. I am currently in Louisiana and it gets slow sometimes during the day ...down to 10 kbps and when that slow, youtube videos will buffer even at 144 speed...not really usable for video at those times. Others don't hav that issue.

couple of points,

they all have limits.  they don't cut you off but they throttle you in certain situations.  this is how they get away with claiming unlimited.

be warned Visible has terrible customer service if you have a problem.

i was there and witnessed their terrible customer service.

There was a bar that offered "All the beer you can drink" for $5.00.

After drinking the initial  beer the customer wanted another.  He was politely told "No, one beer is all you can drink."

This anecdote is similar in application to the Cell Service Providers and unlimited data plans.

As for using you cell data with a laptop, it's  hard to beat the PDA+ app.  Works well with Straight talk.

Visible can be slow at times, down to 10 KB/ps for me. And they do have bad customer service, but it is worth trying for sure at a possible low 25 bucks per month. I still use it knowing the limitations because I don't need fast data all the time.

I am pushing 70 years of age and quite frankly, I don't have the time or tolerance for bargain prices on things or services that "kinda work".

The suck a$$ service that Visible provides is a good example.   Couple that with slow internet and I will gladly pay twice to three times the price for better cell service.

The same goes for those Chinese diesel heaters.   Seven Gray has pulled his apart 2 times because it quit working.  I am on my third winter with my Propex heater with NO problems.  Again $200 vs $800, but you get what you pay for.

Life is too short for mediocrity.

Some of us have to buy what we can afford. I'd love to have an $800 heater, but a 2kw diesel heater may have to work this winter.

I have straight talk thru Walmart. Its 55 for unlimited talk, text, data and that includes 10 GIG of mobile data. I've had them for many years and really don't have any problems with them. Once you get your account set up (can cancel anytime), you can set up auto-refill. One less thing to remember.

If using your phone as a hotspot for a computer with a bigger screen and Visible throttles you down, are you still able to watch Netflix/Youtube videos in regular def, (not hi-def) ?

Yes - I watch Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ over Visible with my laptop connected to phone’s hotspot (assuming you have a workable signal). With my Verizon jetpack, I was hitting a 15GB high speed data cap and then getting throttled to 600kbps which was like using dial-up on a sketchy connection. I don’t have this problem with visible - they do not throttle (no caps right now). They may deprioritize me but I’ve never noticed. Netflix and prime windows apps allow you to download many shows beforehand also. Advice: get a cell booster (weboost) if you’re inside a metal can or on the reception fringes.

Right now I'm hot-spotting with only 2 barns of service and Prime doesn't seem to want to play videos. But I download the rare movie I may want to watch when I'm in town with free WIFI. You can also put up a small antenna and actually get a good number of free TV channels.

Nomad Internet claims unlimited data with their Hotspots. People are saying they've used 100+GB without being cut off.

But they have a lot of issues being reported on Google reviews. It essentially is either their area not getting as good of signal as anticipated or them not having the proper staffing to deal with the growth they've seen with covid. Hard to reach customer service, delayed shipping times, delayed refunds, etc.

Do your own research, but I think it's the only actual unlimited (probably more like very high cutoff threshold) data plan out there for on the go hotspots.

Moamaryoki turned out to be a scam: speeds are somewhat OK at 33mbps up & down, but they charge for data and it is not enough data. Link to tech reviewer.

Recent google reviews look good, but the price is high, link to site. $150 per month is a deal breaker for me, and speed is going to be based on how close to the tower you are and how much traffic there is.

I chatted with a rep today and could not guarantee 20mbps upload at a fixed location equipment in town, though he said verizon coverage was great there ( two bars). Still looking for a good hotspot to run my S&B.

Centurylink wants $49 monthly and says 100mbps down AND upload thru the old phone lines wired into this place. Centurylink cuts you off after a terabit.

HAHAHAHA

The joke is on me, centurylink revealed in chat an UPLOAD speed of 3 mbps here in town. No wonder everyone is out for siesta while their data uploads.

I suppose one would die of old age before you could burn through a terabit of data at that speed. Still looking for my hot spot, may have to go with the high priced Nomad Internet instead of groceries.

Check out Visible. It's a Verizon owned company and their plan is unlimited everything including hotspot for $40/month and no added taxes or fees. This can be reduced to $25/month if you join their Party Pay plan.

I just chatted with visible, and their service does not support a hot spot such as the jetpack, mifi, or nighthawk; only supports phones. So the question for visible users: which phone has the best hot spot? Can any phone connect to multiple devices?

I did a speed test today with my visible phone with the result 30 mbps download and 0 upload speeds.

I have verizon, and thought I could bluetooth tether my android phone to my pc and get my phone's unlimited internet on the laptop. I was wrong, I guess they have software now that can detect that.

Is there another solution that gives me true unlimited hotspot data? I plan to use a significant amount of data streaming live feed's often. and the camera's are going to need the laptop connected to the internet.
This isn't for unlimited hotspot but it's free evidently for 15 GB I think it was, that was the hotspot part, but they also listed talk, text and data.  The company is Safelink and the ad popped up somewhere I was surfing ;)  Might be something helpful, Denise
