Hello all. My name is Chris. I'm 22 and currently working full time and living in a cheap apartment. But my traveling spirit has always felt confined when I stay for too long in one place. Ever since I started high school I haven't stayed in one place for more than a few years. I've always felt a kind of general apathy towards the typical college->job->wife->kids->family->retire->die life plan. Until one day while looking through Instructables.com I found paleotool's vardo, and clicking links led me to cheeprvliving.com. I was instantly entranced by this novel new idea. Having little by way of anchors other than friends, this kind of life appeals to me in a very real way. So I have resolved to attempt to scale down my life until it fits into a relatively modest trailer, continue working at my job until I have a comfortable nest egg, and then weigh anchor and cast my fortune to a strong west wind. I doubt that it will be easy to break the chains of materialism and consumerism that even now I can feel weighing me down. But I believe the sweet taste of true freedom shall be worth it in the end.
-Til Fólkvangr
Chris
