Hello good people, I'm SolarSoda and about to embark upon my first mobile adventure. And I am more excited than words can say!! This is a dream a long time in the making.
It started about 4 years ago when I became re-interested in camping (last time I went camping I was in high school, and that was actually a backpacking adventure through a stretch of the Appalachian Trail; my love of the great outdoors was thoroughly kindled from that trip!). I wanted a tent, a sleeping bag, and a few baggies of GORP! I work in the news industry (in production; I'm a techie) and I was feeling the pull of the great outdoors on me tremendously. I made wishlists on Amazon, and dreamed.
That evolved into a desire to go backpacking, like I did on that high school trip. I researched the death out of it; I made more wishlists on Amazon, and I dreamed.
Followed that line of thought for awhile, then I began to look at RVs, and then I discovered people who live in them, and one thing led to another and it all settled into a desire to live in a van. Like on purpose.
Fast forward to now. My landlord decided to put the home we rent from her up for sale. That was the beginning of November. To everyone's astonishment it sold in less than a month. After I got over the initial shock and had some heart-to-heart discussions with the hubby, he finally got on board with the idea of living in a van. Long story short, we're actually looking for an RV instead because it fits our needs better.
But who knows? Our adventure is only just beginning! We have to be moved out by the end of the month.
Otherwise, I have devoured as much information as I could from Bob's website since I stumbled upon it a couple years ago. I bought the Kindle version of his book (and read it no less than 3 times), I've watched several of his videos, both before and after the switch to his own channel, and I've researched a couple other gurus in recent years. I love the way Bob explains things. He's really good at teaching, and has a way of making you feel like you're just chatting over tea.
I can't wait to finally apply what I've learned in a real world scenario! Stay tuned!
