I spoke with GZ reps today and they said that the Goal Zero 25 ft. Extension is discontinued - because some customers are accidentally hooking their solar panels up in series (no parallel) and damaging their batteries -
they will however (I don't know for how long) make special considerations if a customers situation is "dire" and allow you to purchase on from them for $99.99.
It sounded like the new extension cord will be just $45 and might have built in MC4 multi-branch connectors.
I suspect that many of you on here have, do, can and/or will :

are your own extension cords - this is just heads up so (if you are going to buy one pre-made) you don't do what I did and try to order only to have a company take your money and tell you that they will have it back in stock in 6-8 weeks.

(yes most companies don't charge - they pre-authorize - but if you pay through PayPal it will be charged even though they don't have it in stock)

And if you file a complaint, PayPal will promptly refund.

I prefer to DIY, but proper crimpers are pricey.

genuinedealz. com will make custom length, I bet cheaper and likely better quality

there are a lot of cr^p MC4 connectors out there

That is what I was thinking also John - I was just reading an article about how bad some knock-offs are.
Seems like that could be dangerous too if they are wired incorrectly.

Most solar is pretty low volt, but even then high amps can heat things up and start fires.

But usually main costs are,shorter lifetime and power inefficiencies

The solar place in Quartzsite will custom make extension cords for you. They made a 25 foot Zamp Solar extension for $35. The extension is high quality with large gauge wire.
