Anybody have any ideas. I know there are some usb plugins that may help, but I am not familiar with the technology. Any advice/experience to share is welcome.

Oh two more things.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>The booster helps in areas where the signal is weak and you need to be subscribed to some sort of mobile broadband plan already.</div><div><br></div><div>The wokfi antenna doesn't guarantee you can get onto said network if it's password protected, only that you can access it from a greater range.</div><div><br></div>

Any idea if you can plug in an iPhone ? I can plug in to a USB port to charge, download, upload ect, just not sure if the wifi antenna is at all connected. I don't have phone service on it anymore, so it is strictly wifi connections from here on out, so anything would be a help.

<div><br><div>Building a wokfi antenna is your best bet. However you're dependent on someone else's wifi access point for internet access, and only if it's not secured. The iphone will only work if you have the data plan that allows you to tether it to your laptop, and in that case you would need a wilson mobile signal booster if you're working with a weak signal.</div><div><br></div></div>

The iPhone without a phone carrier ( AT&T ) is the same as an Itouch . It has wifi capability built in that I can use if I find an open, unlocked signal. That is how I post here.. When I first looked into tethering after I heard about it here,I followed a link when a red "warning" screen came up and said that continuing could put me in violation of my apple users agreement, and that they could cancel my carrier, void my equipment ( make inoperable) and possibly face fines. They have better lawyers then I do, and I really didn't care all that much anyway, so I xed out and didn't persue it any farther. I have heard of " cracked" or "jailbroke" iphones that could tether, but without a carrier, it's a moot point. I wouldn't mind being able to lock on to more free wifi sites though.
