Can you over fill it? If so could that cause this to happen.Kia girl said:I have 3 of these generators, 2 gray and 1 bluetooth. All three of them had the surging dying issue when they reached about 20 hrs of run time. They would start and run fine for about 20-30 minutes and start surging and finally die. Sounded like they were running out of fuel. I ran them with the loose fuel cap and that didn't fix it. Finally i moved the run/choke know toward choke to give it a little more gas and that done it for all three of them. So now when i start them i leave them choked until they start sputtering, maybe 15 seconds and then slowly turn the knob to run. As soon as the engine quits sputtering i stop moving the knob although it is not fully in the run position, usually about half way between run and choke. Hopefully this helps.
