I used to deliver blood to hospitals and clinics in London.
We were based at a hospital and used Honda motorcycles for the taskings.
One day I parked my motorcycle right outside the main entrance of one of the largest hospitals in London, and whilst in their blood bank I realised that I didn't have my wallet on me.
I hurridly retraced my steps and got back to my blood delivery motorcycle to see my wallet laying on the seat in full view!
I couldn't believe that it hadn't been taken as hundreds of people had literally walked right past it, then I realized that the large, high visibility full colour warning signs on my motorcycle screen and top box, which read, Warning - Biohazard - Danger of Death, and Emergency Blood, probably had a lot to do with my wallet remaining untouched!
Signs do indeed have a deterrent effect!
