Recently went to one of my favorite spots in the New Mexico Sacramento Mountains and was surprised to find the spot empty of mobile dwellers. It's a long spot parallel to the gravel road and reasonably flat with lots of shade trees. On closer inspection I found two signs posted on trees. Teepee with an orange slash. I read it as "No camping" and translated it to no overnight camping. Especially since the forest service usually blocks the road to places they want to keep vehicles out of with a barricade, a line of big rocks or tree trunks or pile of soil. I hung out there without taking anything out.
I find myself with time to go back tomorrow. It's after hours at the Ranger Station and they aren't open on the weekends. Can't find an online answer to my question. So I post it here. Surely someone knows the answer...
Does the sign with a teepee with a slash through it mean I can't be there at all? I'd like to hang out there but would leave before it got dark.
